The Library Has Gone MOBILE!

Friday, August 31, 2012

That’s right! Your Okanagan College Library website and many online resources are now mobile friendly. Use your internet-capable mobile device (iPhone, Android, Blackberry, etc. ) to access key information from the Library’s website, search the mobile-friendly library catalogue, view the mobile version of the Library’s database listing, search OCtopus and view results optimized for a mobile device, and more! The mobile website will automatically detect mobile users if attempting to access the Library website from a phone. It is also an option to access the full website.

The mobile website includes:

  • Library hours for each campus
  • Library locations with Google maps integration
  • Search library resources:  The Library catalogue has also been made mobile friendly, search for books and media using your phone; OCtopus is also mobile friendly, conduct a search and browse results or read full articles on your phone.
  • Access to databases & electronic resources from a mobile-friendly interface
  • Research & Course guides optimized for mobile screens
  • Access to your library account: Renew items or check the status of holds and requests
  • Help resources: Chat live with a librarian on your phone, find key help resources
  • Contact information: Contact a librarian, find library phone numbers
  • Library News blog that is mobile friendly
