Nov/Dec Deakin Newsletter is Here!

With Christmas quickly approaching, the November/December 2010 Deakin Newsletter of Children’s Literature hNativity Story book imageas a special holiday twist. Visit the Deakin Newsletter page on the Okanagan College Library website to view a number of children’s picture books that follow a Christmas theme. These new additions to the Library’s collection are brilliantly illustrated and will provide entertainment for both children and adults.

From a true story of friendship between a young boy and a penguin, to a picture book based on Gordon Lightfoot’s song ‘Canadian Railroad Trilogy’, these new titles are sure to keep readers intrigued.

New additions to the non-fiction area are ideal for children working on upcoming school projects. For those looking for something different, this edition of Deakin contains books on poetry, fables, a new edition of the Jungle book, and new young adult titles.

Picturing Canada book imageAlso not to be missed is a special Canadian Children’s Literature title, Picturing Canada: A History of Canadian Children’s Illustrated Books and Publishing by Gail Edwards and Judith Saltman.
