2 New Databases!

Two new databases have been added to the Library collection. The first is a trial of Global Market International Database (GMID). This incredibly in-depth database provides business-related statistics, market research reports, and data from a wide range of sources compiled by Euromonitor International, a global market research company specializing in industries, countries and consumers. Consumer and market information is available from 205 countries, with extended data for 52 countries. As a user you can identify and compare statistics for demographic, market, consumer, industry, and company research, and identify information such as market size, brand share, consumer profiles, and more!

This database  will be especially appealing to those taking courses in business, political science, sociology, tourism and hospitality, as well as some others. Experiment by comparing country and company data, such as the top beer companies in Canada versus the United States.

We encourage you to take a look, take it for a test run, and give us feedback! Visit the trial databases page on the Library website for more information.

Martins ONline Criminal Code iconThe second  new addition to the library’s online database collection will be of special interest to those studying criminology, law, government, or other arts courses. Martin’s Online Criminal Code is an online legal research tool that provides access to the current criminal code and annotations, as well as all previous criminal codes dating back to 1955.  As a user you can browse through previous versions of Martin’s Annual Criminal Code, or search for a specific section or subsection.

This database can be accessed from the A-Z articles page on the Library website, or on the subject pages for Arts, Criminology, Reference, and Law & Government. Don’t forget to let us know what you think of this new online resource, or any other resources currently available at the library.
