New Database: Alternative Press Index

The Library is testing out a new database! Alternative Press Index (API) may have just the article you are looking for. With over 300,000 records that include journals, newspaper articles, and magazine records from over 300 international alternative, radical, and left-wing periodicals you just may find exactly what you need!

The Alternative Press Index (API) database covers theories and practices of socialism and revolution alongside Ecology, Democracy and Anarchism, Feminism and Organized Labor, and Indigenous Peoples and Gays/Lesbians. API coverage begins in 1991 and is both international and interdisciplinary.

Take advanatage of this unique database before it’s too late! It is only on trial until the end of November. You can access API by visiting the Articles page on the library website and clicking the ‘Trial Databases” link on the right side of the screen, or by clicking the “Find Articles by Title (A-Z List)” link at the top of the articles page.

The Library would love to get your feedback on this new database. Leave us a comment on this blog, on our Facebook page, or send us a Tweet (@OC_Lib) via Twitter. You can also let us know by using the library suggestion box, by asking a librarian online, by sending us an e-mail, or by stopping by the reference desk.

Any issues accessing the database? Let the OC Web Services Librarian know be sending her an e-mail!
